This is a good place to grab a quick lunch just off the City's Newly Upgraded Square. The owners are friendly and the menu is basic for a burger and fries - somewhat of a no frill diner. We would return but there are many great choices on the City's Square.

Since the new owners are gone and they are new ones now, the food is not the same. Last time I went I got a hamburger with slaw and onions ketchup mustard pickles, or that is what I ordered My hamburger didn't have any slaw on it but it had pickles and onions. The fries were crispy not normal homemade fries. My husband's hamburger was okay. I have ordered again this is my second time since the new changeover and once again the french fries are definitely not the same they are overcooked and very crispy. My hamburger which was supposed to have slaw onions ketchup mustard pickles has a lot of onions like a half a teaspoon of slaw and ketchup mustard pickles. I'm not sure who is ever cooking understands that here in the south we love our slaw and if we're going to pay for it we should at least get enough on it to taste. Not eager to go back. We've always loved going to collegiate grill but it has changed. It also seems the price is have went up too.

To the new owners I wish you guys the best of luck and many blessings your way!! Today I went and everything was great Like always just please don't raise the prices high that way many can continue to enjoy (not saying you guys have) keep in mind we have to purchase fries and drinks separate so it adds up to a meal if you guys keep it the way it is and the prices good to how they are you guys will definitely have that 2024 sticker on the window next to the other ones were it shows you guys being the best!!! I enjoyed meeting you guys today and warm smiles you guys carry I love this spot!!!Blessings to you guys!!!

This diner has history. You walk in and you can feel it. Sitting on the covered deck, I was able to listen to the sounds of the city and the musical birds in the nearby trees, with an occasional light breeze. Very comfortable. I had a chocolate shake, hand-spun, perfectly blended. A cheese burger with grilled onions, which had just the right amount of grease, and chili cheese fries, which had a ton of cheese and chili. The waitress, Rachel, was cordial and full of southern hospitality, just a pleasure to be around, had great energy. I will definitely be returning anytime I have a hankering for a burger and shake.

Homage to 1947: Same flavors you used to get ages ago!! Just not ages ago prices. Ha! Under new ownership and thriving! Love seeing this place packed out! This gem of a restaurant is a gainesville legend—A must visit place!! Service was slow, but it was packed with a line out the door!

Collegiate Grill, how I love your chili slaw dogs! The soft grilled bun with crispy edges, the crunchy slaw and salty chili and a perfectly grilled dog is just a treat. I also adore your fries. Not the standard crinkle cut for you, no, these are delicious fries with a little skin on - with ketchup, Awesome with a capital A! We usually grab our food to go or eat it one of the lovely little tables right outside but I love the makeover too, y'all!! Your diner looks beautiful. Thanks for doing what it takes to be a local favorite!

Absolutely loved our first visit, cant believe we never tried it before. Great quality food, excellent atmosphere, super clean place and super friendly staff! Definitely NOT The Varsity, like I expected, and while the service was fast I wouldnt categorize this place as just another "fast food" joint. Looking forward to next time :)
